High school students requesting concurrent enrollment may be admitted as "Special Part-Time" High School Students or "Joint Diploma" High School Students, subject to specific requirements.
SPECIAL PART-TIME HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Admission Regulations:
High school students requesting concurrent enrollment may be admitted as "Special Part-Time" High School Students subject to the following criteria:
- Students must have completed the 10th grade.
- A student may take a maximum of one course per semester or session. This maximum includes classes at City, Mesa, Miramar Colleges and ECC (excludes High School Honors classes).
- High school students must satisfy course prerequisites and eligibility requirements. Proof required – contact the college Admissions Office for information.
- Enrollment in Physical Education classes will not be permitted.
- The course must be advanced scholastic or technical (college degree applicable). Contact the college Admissions Office for information.
- Students will be given college credit for all courses. Grades will be part of the student's permanent college record.
Note: Persons who are under 18 years of age who do not have a high school diploma and are not enrolled in a high school may be admitted as a special full-time student pursuant to Education Code ยง48800.5 subject to approval of the high school governing board and the college President where the student is planning to attend. Special full-time students will be admitted under provisional admission status.
JOINT DIPLOMA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

High school students requesting concurrent enrollment may be admitted as "Joint Diploma" High School Students subject to the criteria mentioned above with the additional criteria that students must have a Joint High School Diploma Program plan on file at their respective site.
ACADEMIC STANDING RULES FOR SPECIAL PART-TIME AND JOINT DIPLOMA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
- Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average each semester in all college work.
- If the number of units of W, I and NP exceed 40% in any semester or session, the student will be academically disqualified.
- A special part-time or joint diploma high school student whose grade point average falls below a 2.0, or who does not complete 60% of all units attempted will not be permitted to re-enroll.
Steps For Concurrent Enrollment
If you meet the requirements and wish to apply for concurrent enrollment, follow these steps:
- Apply for admission using the Online Application for Admission website.
- When you fill out the online application, you will be assigned a College Student ID number (CSID).
NOTE: Be sure to keep this number in a secure location. It will be required to access your student records, access online services and to conduct all business with the college.
- When you fill out the online application, you will be assigned a College Student ID number (CSID).
- Download the Supplemental Application form that applies to you:
- Complete the form
- Enter the CSID number you have been assigned.
- Refer to the College Catalog for course descriptions
- Refer to the upcoming term's Class Schedule to select classes
- Have the completed form certified by your high school.
- Bring the certified form to the Admissions Office on campus.
